Asmus, Arlen "Arlie"

...Arlie was born to Alvin and Frieda (Peapenburg) Asmus on March 28, 1926, on the family farm in the Town of Neenah.

He graduated from Neenah High School and worked on the farm until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1944, where he served in South Korea and Okinawa.

In 1946, Arlie re-enlisted into the Air Force and was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, until 1949.

Arlie was proud of his service to our country and enjoyed telling stories of his experiences.

He is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2880-Mississippi.

Upon his return from the service, Arlie married his sweetheart Dorothy "Mutz" Julius on May 20, 1950, in Greenville, Wisconsin.

In 1949, Arlie began work as an Ink Chemist for American Can and worked there for 33 years.

In 1967, Arlie and Mutz founded and successfully operated Fox Valley Stone and Brick Co.

Inc.

in Neenah and sold the business in 1994.

Arlie served home community of Winneconne as Municipal Judge for 8 years.

He was proud of the fact that none of his decisions were overturned by a higher court.

Arlie found pleasure in story telling, fishing, hunting, golfing, and watching the Packers.

He was a member of Ridgeway Country Club in Neenah for over 30 years and most notably he will tell you about his seven holes-in-one.

Arlie lived in Winneconne for 15 years and was a member of St.

Paul's Ev.

Lutheran Church.

He retired permanently to Diamondhead, Mississippi, in 1999 and became a member of ...

Neville Brothers keep hope alive
