The companies described the Swiss approval of Nexavar as an entry step into Europe. In December 2005, the U.S. FDA approved Nexavar. Bayer, in September 2005, filed for European Medicines Agency or EMEA regulatory approval. Pending a favorable review, marketing of Nexavar is possible in the EU countries in the second half of 2006. In addition, Bayer has completed filings in several countries, including Mexico, Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Turkey. In the co-development collaboration, Onyx would fund 50% of the development and marketing costs worldwide, except in Japan. In return, Onyx has a 50/50 profit share in the United States, where the companies co-promote the product. In all other countries, except Japan, Bayer has exclusive marketing rights and Onyx's profit share is slightly less than 50%. In Japan, Bayer will fund product development and Onyx will receive a royalty. Bayer shares closed Wednesday's regular trading session at $39.60, up $0.11, on a volume of 422,000 shares. Port Alice kicks off Cops for Cancer
Audrey Clark holds the plug on would-be barber Al Goodridge as she sets out to raise $10,000 for Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock. By Shirley BowickGazette correspondent Mar 30 2006 PORT ALICE – Audrey Clark’s life was touched by cancer when her mom lost a breast. Then last year, when Audrey and her husband Lyle, started to look forward to Lyle’s well-deserved retirement, Lyle was diagnosed with cancer and lost a lung last fall.So, Audrey Clark decided to kick off fundraising for Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock early this year. In February Audrey set a personal goal of raising $10,000 for shaving her head. Last year Port Alice raised about $15,000 with an annual seafood dinner, auction, raffles and head shaves. Those events will take place again this year Sept. 24th, when Clark will have her locks shorn.When Audrey sets her mind to do something she believes in, nothing will stand in her way. Her determination to date has raised $6000.00 in pledges. About $2400.00, is in an account set up by Audrey for Port Alice pledgers, to put their donations in when it’s convenient for them. The pledges have ranged from $5.00 to $1,000.00. The money goes towards cancer Research, and Camp Good times, a summer camp for children with cancer. These children look forward to each summer, to be with their peers. Here the children all have something in common.
