STARS of The Bill may have to be tested for asbestos poisoning after filming on the Roundshaw estate. Producers of the TV show are investigating after being told that actors and crew could have been put at risk by filming while buildings there were being demolished. Asbestos, which can cause heart, lung and breathing problems - and the cancer mesothelioma - was used in building the original blocks on the estate in Wallington in the 1960s. Some residents fear the knocking down of homes may be putting them in danger of being poisoned. And there is concern that crew and cast members of the police show could have been affected, as they regularly film on the estate.
